FAQ

Common questions

What is the difference between self-hosted and managed cloud?+
Self-hosted means you download and run FissionOps on your own infrastructure using Docker Compose. You control the data, the environment, and the network. Managed cloud means NullVector hosts and operates the platform for you on Australian infrastructure — you get a login URL and we handle everything else. The feature set is identical on both options.
Is there a free trial?+
Yes, for the managed cloud option. You can start a free trial without a credit card. The trial includes the full platform with no feature restrictions. Trial duration and any data migration options will be confirmed at sign-up. The self-hosted air-gapped license does not have a trial period, but we offer a live demo on request.
Where is managed cloud data hosted?+
All managed cloud infrastructure is located in Australia. Your incident data never leaves Australian jurisdiction. We do not use offshore cloud regions, and all backups are also stored within Australia. This satisfies the data residency requirements of most Australian government and regulated-sector organisations.
Do you support government and defence procurement?+
Yes. We understand that government and defence organisations often require specific procurement processes, panel arrangements, or contractual terms. Contact us to discuss your requirements and we will work within your procurement framework. We can provide quotes, respond to RFQs, and engage through standard government procurement channels.
How does the air-gapped license work?+
After purchase you receive an offline license file that is loaded into your FissionOps deployment at startup. The platform verifies the license locally with no outbound connection required. Licenses are issued for 12 months. Renewal generates a new license file which replaces the existing one — the process takes minutes and does not require redeployment or downtime.
What support is included?+
Both plans include email support with a response commitment of one business day. Support covers platform operation, deployment questions, and bug reports. Feature requests and configuration assistance are handled on a best-effort basis. Enhanced support arrangements with faster SLAs are available on request — contact us to discuss.
Can I switch from managed cloud to self-hosted?+
Yes. If you start on managed cloud and later want to move to a self-hosted deployment, we will provide a full export of your incident data in a portable format. We will also assist with the migration to ensure continuity. There is no lock-in — your data is yours and you can take it with you at any time.
